About Us
Pop Cultured began as a few times a year, convention centered hobby for our big, geeky family. It became a brick and mortar store when, while shopping for cheese at Mill No. 5, Mike casually said “I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a comic or gaming store!” And Renee pointed out, “Well, we have a store, it just doesn’t have a dedicated storefront.” Thinking that leveling up the family convention hobby would be so much fun for our five kids we took the plunge.
Luckily, by the time we figured out that our kids wanted next to nothing to do with having a store we discovered that we loved running it. Starting off with a small 500 square foot shop in 2019 Pop Cultured has more than doubled in size, added permanante gaming tables, and added in annual gaming, fandom, and anime events.
When not geeking out or wrangling kids Mike designs fuel cells and Renee is an author, runs the artists’ collective Nova Art Studios in N. Chelmsford, and owns Amaranth & Rue, a full line of bath, body, and beauty products.
